By air
Macau International Airport “operates 24 hours a day, with many visitors entering the territory via numerous major cities around the region.”
- Taxi: “a surcharge of MOP8.00 is applicable, with each item of luggage carried in the boot charged at MOP3.00.”
- Hotel car: “All major hotels provide a pick-up service which can be booked in advance or arranged upon arrival.”

While the Border Gate is shut overnight, use Hengqin or Qingmao. At the Frontier Post, “tourists from Zhuhai can travel to Macao via the Frontier Post on foot.”
From Hong Kong by sea or air
- Cotai Water Jet: Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal to Macau’s Taipa Ferry Terminal, approximately 1 hour.
- Sky Shuttle Helicopters: from Hong Kong or Shenzhen, about 15 minutes, the fastest option listed.
Fares, pick-up notice and customs rules
The page gives no ferry or helicopter fares, and no notice period for a hotel pick-up. Ferry seats and fares are on the operators’ own sites and on Trip.com, which sells the Hong Kong to Macau crossings with a live price before you commit to a sailing time.
It is the tourism office’s arrival page, not the customs department’s, so it says nothing on duty-free allowances, dutiable goods or what you may bring in. Check those with Macau’s customs authority before you set off.
Ferry and coach tickets to Macau are bookable on Trip.com, which does publish the fares (affiliate link)
