Asia Miles is Cathay Pacific’s mileage program, run out of Hong Kong. Its own “about us” page reads less like a rulebook and more like a running list of live promotions, each with a real expiry date attached. We checked it on 30 August 2026, and what follows is what was live that day, not a general description of how the program works.
A duty-free gift for showing your boarding pass
Present a valid Cathay Pacific or HK Express boarding pass before takeoff at BEAUTY&YOU by The Shilla Duty Free, and the promotion gets you “a complimentary designer brand skincare or fragrance gift”. It runs through 14 September 2026.
Converting other points in, at double the usual rate
Asia Miles lets you convert One Avenue points in at “100 points = 10 for a limited time”, described as double the normal rate, through 15 September 2026. The page doesn’t state what the standard, non-doubled conversion rate is, so there’s no way to judge from this source alone how good a deal the doubled rate actually is.
Two promotions that expire the day after we checked
Two offers on the page end on 31 August 2026, one day after we captured it. Spending in top categories, including tech gadgets, books, and sports gear, through the Milesback program earns “up to HKD10 = 7.75” Asia Miles. Renting a car through Hertz at selected destinations, the page promises to “earn up to 1,200 with a 10% discount”. If you’re reading this after that date, both are already gone. Asia Miles updates this page on its own schedule, so check it again rather than trusting this snapshot.
Earning miles outside of flying
Asia Miles isn’t only earned on flights. Uber Taxi rides in Hong Kong, and Uber rides in selected other destinations, “earn up to 80 per ride” as a summer promotion, with no end date stated on the page. Card Linked Earn lets you link “any of your credit cards (MasterCard, Visa credit and debit cards)” to your Cathay membership profile, so spending at selected partners earns miles automatically without a separate promo code.
A fee discount for one specific co-branded card
Standard Chartered Cathay Mastercard holders get “a 10% discount on fees for miles renewal, miles transfer and gift miles” and on redeeming travel awards, when they settle payment with that card.
No flying earn rate or redemption chart appears
Nowhere on its own page does Asia Miles state the basic earn rate for actually flying with Cathay Pacific: how many miles you get per dollar spent or per mile flown. It also doesn’t publish a redemption chart showing how many miles an award seat costs. For a program built around flying, those are the two most basic facts an occasional flyer would want, and neither is here.
