Bangladesh's Online Visa Portal: The Rules Behind the Form

Bangladesh’s visa portal FAQ explains how the online form behaves. It does not say who needs a visa or what one costs. Its two seven-day clocks are the rules that catch people out.

English only

The portal states: “At Present our online application system only supports applications made in English.” There is no language toggle.

Two 7-day clocks

Saved drafts. Use the “Save & Exit” icon to pause. You return with the ID emailed to you: “To login again and complete your application, you will require your unique ‘Visa Application Id’. This number will have been sent to the email address that you supplied in your application security details.” The limit is “Online forms in progress that are saved are deleted after 7 days. You can return within 7 days.”

Submitted forms. “Online forms are valid for 7 days from the day you submit it. We cannot accept application forms after this 7 days period, as the data expires and is deleted.” Whatever happens next has to happen inside that week.

No edits after you submit

You can change anything until you submit, and nothing after: “If you didn’t submit your application finally you can do the change. After submitting the application you can’t change it.” Check the form before the last click.

Date format

Every date field uses one format: “dd/mm/yyyy (for example 21/08/2011).” If you are used to writing the month first, read each date twice.

If the confirmation email does not arrive

“If you have not received your confirmation email after 24 hours please contact us through Complain and Feedback link.” Wait 24 hours, then use that link.

Payment

The portal says: “Currently online payment for visa application is not supported.” The FAQ does not say what the alternative is, so this is the one step you cannot rehearse from the official page. A filed application arrives paid for if you use a filing service.

What the FAQ does not cover

The FAQ never says whether your nationality needs a visa, what a Bangladesh visa costs, how long approval takes inside the 7-day window, or which documents to upload. Those are on Bangladesh’s visa requirements and fee schedule elsewhere on the portal, or from a Bangladeshi mission.
