Bangladesh’s official visa portal FAQ answers a narrow set of questions — all about how the online form itself behaves, not who needs a visa or what one costs. That’s worth knowing before you start filling it in, because the two clocks it runs on are unforgiving.
English only
The portal states its own limitation directly: “At Present our online application system only supports applications made in English.” There’s no language toggle to look for.
Two different 7-day clocks
The first clock starts if you save an unfinished form. You can pause any time you see the “Save & Exit” icon, and come back later using an ID sent to you by email: “To login again and complete your application, you will require your unique ‘Visa Application Id’. This number will have been sent to the email address that you supplied in your application security details.” But that pause has a limit — “Online forms in progress that are saved are deleted after 7 days. You can return within 7 days.” Miss that window, and the draft is gone.
The second clock starts once you actually submit. A finished, submitted application is also only good for 7 days: “Online forms are valid for 7 days from the day you submit it. We cannot accept application forms after this 7 days period, as the data expires and is deleted.” Submitting isn’t the finish line — whatever happens next has to happen inside that same week.
You get one shot at the answers
Before you hit final submit, you can go back and change anything. After that, you can’t: “If you didn’t submit your application finally you can do the change. After submitting the application you can’t change it.” Review the form carefully before that last click — there’s no edit function waiting for you afterward.
A formatting detail worth getting right
Every date field on the form follows one format: “dd/mm/yyyy (for example 21/08/2011).” Applicants used to writing the month first should read every date field twice before submitting.
If the confirmation email doesn’t show up
The portal gives a real window before you should worry: “If you have not received your confirmation email after 24 hours please contact us through Complain and Feedback link.” Twenty-four hours, then a specific channel to use — not a generic support inbox.
Payment isn’t handled here
The portal is explicit that this part of the process happens somewhere else: “Currently online payment for visa application is not supported.” The FAQ doesn’t say what the alternative is.
Visa eligibility, cost and approval time aren’t covered
This FAQ is entirely about the mechanics of the web form — it never states whether a given nationality needs a visa at all, what a Bangladesh visa actually costs, how long approval takes once your application is inside its own 7-day window, or what documents you need to upload. If you’re trying to answer any of those questions, this page isn’t where the answer lives; you’ll need Bangladesh’s visa requirements and fee schedule from elsewhere on the same portal, or from a Bangladeshi mission.
