Checked bags are also tagged for priority handling, “ensuring it’s among the first to arrive on the belt.”
Lounge access across the whole network
Gold status gets you into “over 1,000 airport lounges worldwide, including six Star Alliance lounges,” when flying any Star Alliance member airline, not only the one whose card you hold.
A better position on the waitlist
If your booked class of service is fully sold, Gold status gives “higher priority on the waitlist when a reservation is possible.” That’s a queue position, not a guaranteed seat.
One narrow, specific perk: London’s Heathrow Express
Gold status and one companion get a complimentary upgrade to PREMIER+ on the Heathrow Express, the rail link between Heathrow and London Paddington. Star Alliance spells out the exact steps:

The page is titled around both Gold and Silver, but everything on it describes Gold only. It gives no equivalent list for Silver, which is the tier most occasional travelers actually reach first.
