KrisFlyer for Travelers Who Fly Singapore Airlines Once

Singapore Airlines’ programme page covers KrisFlyer and PPS Club together. What survived verification on it is almost all KrisFlyer, so this guide covers KrisFlyer and says where PPS Club detail is missing.

Joining costs nothing

KrisFlyer is free to join. The airline’s pitch is to “Earn easier, redeem faster, and travel better by signing up for free today.” Miles start accruing on Singapore Airlines flights immediately, and members “enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi every time you fly with Singapore Airlines”.

Scoot flights earn miles

Scoot, Singapore Airlines’ budget affiliate, also earns KrisFlyer miles. Those miles can be used “to offset the cost of flights, seat selections, or additional baggage allowance.” That goes beyond booking a reward ticket.

KrisPay

KrisPay is a separate points currency, earned at “up to 6 KrisPay miles for every SGD 1 spent” with partners across Singapore. It converts to KrisFlyer miles 1:1, but only “within 21 days of the earn transaction.”* The source does not say what happens to a KrisPay balance after that window.

What is live on 7 October 2026, and what ended

This is a snapshot of what Singapore Airlines and Pelago were showing on 7 October 2026, each with its own end date. Offers differ by country version of the airline’s site. These come from the US English version of the hub page.

Ended. The Expedia offer, 2 KrisFlyer miles for every SGD 6 on Singapore Airlines or Scoot flights booked through a dedicated page, ran from 4 August to 30 September 2026. The airline’s page still shows those dates, and nothing we checked has replaced it.

Pelago, SGD 20 off: two first-party pages, two end dates. Singapore Airlines’ promotion page still describes “SGD 20 off (min. spend SGD 50) when you book attractions, tours, and transport worldwide on Pelago” and still gives the window as 1 July to 30 September 2026. Pelago’s own KrisFlyer deals page carries terms for the same SGD 20 that read “Valid till 31 October 2026”, with “Only valid for use up to two times per member” and a minimum spend of SGD 50 or its currency equivalent. We could not reconcile the two. The airline says to “redeem your SGD 20 off promo from your Rewards section under Account”, so log in to your KrisFlyer account on Pelago’s KrisFlyer deals page and see whether it is there before you plan around it.

Running through October and November. The hub page features three more:

• KrisFlyer Cruise, bookings to 31 October 2026: “Earn up to 1,000 bonus KrisFlyer miles and enjoy up to USD100 onboard credit per cabin on eligible Royal Caribbean cruises when you make an eligible booking with KrisFlyer Cruise”. The top figures are for sailings of 7 nights and over, with half of each for 6 nights and under. The sailing must embark from 1 December 2026.
• ELEMENTS (Hong Kong), 1 to 31 October 2026: “Enjoy 20% bonus KrisFlyer miles when you convert ELEMENTS POINTS to KrisFlyer miles”.
• Shinsegae Duty Free (Korea), 1 October to 30 November 2026: “Shop at Shinsegae Duty Free (Korea) to earn 2X KrisFlyer miles and enjoy exclusive privileges”, capped at 1,000 miles a month.

Pelago is Singapore Airlines’ own experiences platform, and the airline lists it with Kris+ and KrisShop as a way to earn or redeem miles when not flying. Pelago’s terms say members “Earn 3 KrisFlyer miles for every SGD 1 (or equivalent) spent on bookings made and completed through Pelago”, unless the product page says otherwise. The miles arrive after the experience is completed, and the Elite page adds 1 Elite mile per SGD 1. So a booking made on Pelago while logged in as a member earns miles with no coupon. If Singapore is the trip, Pelago’s multi-attraction pass is the product built for visitors. Whether it beats single tickets depends on which attractions you pick.

The Elite tiers cost 25,000 and 50,000 Elite miles a year

The hub page gives elite status one line, “KrisFlyer Elite tier members also enjoy a host of benefits on the ground and in the air,” with no tier and no threshold. Singapore Airlines publishes both on a dedicated qualification page.

Elite Silver takes “25,000 Elite miles earned within 12 consecutive months,” and the membership then lasts twelve months. Elite Gold takes “50,000 Elite miles within 12 consecutive months,” on the same clock. Both requalify the same way: earn the threshold again inside your membership period.

Published benefits:

• Elite Silver: “25% bonus KrisFlyer miles, discounted service fees, priority reservation waitlist.”
• Elite Gold: “access to more than 1,000 lounges across the world, priority check-in, extra baggage allowance.”

Lounge access is the one benefit on that list with a published price outside the programme. For anyone chasing Gold mainly for the lounge, the operator’s own passes are the comparison against 50,000 Elite miles.

Elite miles earned on the ground, at 1 per SGD 1 with Kris+, KrisShop and Pelago, are capped for qualification: “Elite miles earned through non-flight spends can count towards up to 20% of the total amount of Elite miles required to qualify or requalify for KrisFlyer Elite Silver or Elite Gold status.” The airline puts numbers on it: “you may use up to 5,000 miles earned on the ground for Elite Silver, and 10,000 miles earned on the ground for Elite Gold.” Its worked example is a Silver member with 18,000 flown and 6,000 earned on the ground who falls short because “5,000 is the maximum amount of non-flight Elite miles allowed to be used for qualification.”

For an annual flyer, that arithmetic is the answer

Lounge access arrives at Elite Gold, which is 50,000 Elite miles inside twelve months. That is several long-haul sectors a year, out of reach for someone flying Singapore Airlines once.

Chasing status for a Changi lounge does not work for that reader, but the lounge is still worth buying. A lounge price you can read before you go sits on the operator’s own page, and Plaza Premium runs rooms at Changi. Joining KrisFlyer is still free and worth doing on the first flight.

This page does not cover what the miles can build once redeemed. Stopover entitlement on a KrisFlyer award depends on the award type you bought, is capped at 30 days, and follows a second, tighter set of rules once a Star Alliance partner is in the itinerary. PPS Club is a separate programme with its own requirements, published separately by the airline. Nothing about it is stated on the page cited here, and we have not verified its terms, so this guide states none.

Corrections

18 September 2026. This page carried a section headed “What this page doesn’t say: elite tiers, and PPS Club entirely”, concluding that “the airline does not say what the tiers are or what they contain” and that “you cannot decide to chase something whose price and prize are both unpublished.”

Singapore Airlines publishes both. A dedicated KrisFlyer Elite qualification page gives 25,000 Elite miles for Elite Silver and 50,000 for Elite Gold, each on a twelve-month clock, and names the benefits at each tier, including lounge access at Gold. The claim was true of the hub page this guide cites and false of the airline.

The affiliate link in that section was argued on the absence, on the reasoning that a published door price beats an unpublished tier table. The link stays, because the arithmetic reaches the same place. 50,000 Elite miles in twelve months is out of reach for someone flying once a year, so buying the lounge is still the answer for this page’s reader. It is now argued from the published number.
